Aldo Ballo (1928-1994), milanese d’adozione, a partire dagli anni Sessanta è stato il fotografo prediletto dai più celebri designer italiani. A lui si devono anche le foto di questa sezione, dedicata alle più notevoli creazioni di design firmate da Gian Casè. La caratteristica delle sue immagini è il fondo uniformemente bianco, il cosiddetto ‘limbo’, sul quale i soggetti risaltano come se fossero sospesi nell’aria. / Aldo Ballo (1928-1994), Milanese by adoption, has been the favorite photographer of the most famous Italian designers since the 1960s. He is the author of the photos in this section, dedicated to the most notable design creations by Gian Casè. The characteristic of his images is the uniformly white background, the so-called 'limbo', on which the subjects stand out as if they were suspended in the air.

Questo vaso, disegnato da Gian Casè nel 1970 per Robots, è il punto di arrivo di anni di ricerca per l’impiego dell’acciaio inossidabile in lastra: sul metallo, prelucidato, vengono incise, mediante pantografatura, delle linee che rendono possibili piegature in un senso e poi nell’altro, ottenendo così dei sorprendenti manufatti a spigoli vivi curvilinei. / This vase, designed by Gian Casè in 1970 for Robots, is the culmination of years of research into the use of stainless steel in the sheet: on the pre-polished metal, lines are engraved, by pantographing, which make bending possible, in one sense and then in the other, thus obtaining surprising artifacts with curved sharp edges.
